After years of absence (for the most part), thrash cult legends Blood Feast will soon return with their first new studio album in decades. That album, ‘The Future State Of Wicked‘, is set for international release this Friday, April 14th, via Hell’s Headbangers. A full album stream on Bandcamp is available below.
Blood Feast fans old and new will not be disappointed by The Future State Of Wicked, as it captures the vibes of the band’s early days. Such classic efforts from the band like ‘Kill For Pleasure’ (1987), the ‘Face Fate’ EP (1988), and ‘Chopping Block Blues’ (1990) influence much of the new album.
All the speed, brutality, and dizzying intensities Blood Feast is known for are intact and in your face. Nine of the ten songs were written by original guitarist Adam Tranquilli, yet updated with modern production. Joining Adam in the current incarnation of Blood Feast are vocalist Chris Natalini and bassist Tom Lorenzo, along with some new blood in Joe Moore (drums) and CJ Scioscia (guitar).

Blood Feast was formed by Adam Tranquilli, Gary Markowich (vocals), Kevin Kuzma (drums), and Lou Starita (bass) in 1985, as Blood Lust. Shortly after, they became a five-piece with the addition of Michael Basden on guitar. By the time their music was included on several early New Renaissance Records compilations, they had changed their name to Blood Feast. Several releases later, the band would eventually split up after the 1990’s ‘Chopping Block Blues’ release.
The five-man version of Blood Feast reunited for an appearance at the NJ March Metal Meltdown in 1999, but no further activity would occur after that. A second reunion began in 2007 with original members Tranquilli and Kuzma. Both Lorenzo and Natalini came on board in 2010, just in time for the band’s first appearance at Headbangers Open Air in Germany (they were invited back in 2013) and guitarist CJ Scioscia joined in 2014. Drummer Joe Moore joined a few months later and that is the sequence of events that leads us up to now with Blood Feast 2017.
