Fist Fight In The Parking Lot – Upcoming ‘714’ Due Out 7/14 & Release Party On 7/28

What a heavy-duty music surprise to have the latest Fist Fight In The Parking Lot release ‘714′ be released on – you guessed it – July 14th. Just in time for my birthday on Saturday.  Blackseed Recordings is on a dark rampage lately with their roster. I, for one, am thrilled.

With their most recent releases being a five-song EP ‘Year Of The Ox’ and an original single “I Had A Name“, written for the movie “The Other Side” (from Orchard Place Productions) in 2014, it is long overdue for a full length from this heavy swinging quartet from Pittsburgh, PA.

Comprised of drummer Chris Ruane, vocalist and guitarist Abby Krizner, bassist/vocalist John McCallough, and guitarist Jason Sichi, they’ve been a bit occupied the past three years or so. On hiatus from live performances, during which Abby Krizner managed to spawn a real live human baby!

Fist Fight In The Parking Lot was also hard at work in the studio crafting a mighty return with a booming, bright, and haunting album about change, loss, and fighting back.  Eight years into the band’s history, their newest album “714” channels the lilting groove of Queens of the Stone Age, the open atmosphere of Soundgarden, and punchy rock all their own.

Their latest, ‘714‘ was engineered, mixed, and mastered by drummer Chris Ruane. The album artwork and design layout is by Chris Smith (Grey Aria Design Studio), and will be released on Blackseed Records & Recordings. You can catch a video release sampler below, as well as some live photos shot at past Fist Fight In The Parking Lot shows.

“714” will be digitally released on July 14th, 2017.  To celebrate their return, Blackseed Recordings is hosting a Dual Album Release Party on July 28th at Brillobox, in Pittsburgh PA.

The dual release party is for both Blackseed Recording artists – Molasses Barge and Fist Fight In The Parking Lot. If you’re planning in the PGH area that weekend, you can R.S.V.P. here at their Facebook Event page.

Remember, scars add character. Enjoy with whiskey.

If you recall, Blackseed Records is the host of the upcoming Descendants Of Crom Festival, on September 30th in Pittsburgh. You can click the Festival poster art in the sidebar of this page, or read our previous article for all info and the full lineup for the Fest, which is sponsored in part by Riff Relevant!
