Asheville, North Carolina‘s Temptations Wings have had an amazing year so far with 2017. In March, they released their full-length debut, the conceptual masterpiece ‘Skulthor Ebonblade‘.
The album’s enthralling tale of mythical warriors, malevolent practitioners of black magic, bloodthirsty warfare, and mayhem in general resonated well with critics all around the world. The band’s emanations of their unique style of Appalachian Power Doom metal has won over fans from hearing the album or seeing Temptations Wings live both.
The release helped in landing the band many prestigious shows since and ultimately, provided fueling for their jump to the headlining slot themselves. That milestone recently took place for the guys in their home base of AVL but before it did, they had a killer support slot for the mighty Y & T earlier this year.
It was there that I wrangled Temptations Wings guitarist and vocalist Micah Nix, drummer Jason Gardner, and bassist Chad Barnwell together for an interview. We sat down for some conversation and laughs, both of which took place back in April at The Grey Eagle.
