Heavy metal drumming god Gene “The Atomic Clock” Hoglan, whose legacy of acts includes Dark Angel, Testament, Strapping Young Lad, Dethklok, Meldrum, Pitch Black Forecast, Death, and more, will undertake a late-night TV residency soon. He will sit in with NBC‘s Late Night With Seth Meyers house band, The 8G Band, from October 2nd through October 5th as their guest drummer.
Hoglan joins the ranks of iconic drummers Abe Laboriel, Jr. (Paul McCartney), Brann Dailor (Mastodon), Vinnie Colaiuta (Frank Zappa, Joni Mitchell, Sting), Matt Cameron (Pearl Jam, Soundgarden), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Danny Carey (Tool), Venzella Joy (Beyoncé), and others who have also held this position on the show.
Gene commented on his upcoming stint, saying:
