For years now, Phil Anselmo has been one of the hardest working cats in all of the music underground. He’s continually juggling a variety of bands, his work within his label, Housecore Records, and countless other endeavors. Just in the past few weeks alone has come news of an imminent new Scour album (details) as well as a planned goth rock project, En Minor (details). All while Phil’s Superjoint band is currently on tour in the U.S.
Now, to accompany those recent announcements comes another to do with his solo band, Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals. The band has set ‘Choosing Mental Illness As A Virtue‘ as the title of its second album, due in December via Housecore Records.
This will be the band’s follow-up to Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals‘ debut, ‘Walk Through Exits Only‘, which came out in 2013 to positive reviews. It will also be the first with new guitarist Mike DeLeon who replaced Marzi Montazeri back in late 2015.
Further details will be shared as they become available.
