This Friday, October 27th, will see the release of the new album from GNAW, ‘Cutting Pieces‘, via Translation Loss Records. The entire album is streaming here a bit early though and you can give it a listen below.
GNAW is an experimental collective of a whole other kind, taking aural exploration to a new level. Featuring members or alumni of acts like Khanate, OLD, Enos Slaughter, Ike Yard, Insect Ark, and more.
On ‘Cutting Pieces’, they utilize an impressive gathering of implements including guitars, bass, drums, voices, lap steel guitar, Chinese cello, Weevil, conga, sawed-off Kramer, oscillator, Alto sax, homemade oscillator, microcassette recorder, 2002 Toshiba laptop, voice dictators, the kitchen sink, and more.
Translation Loss will release ‘Cutting Pieces’ on LP, CD, and digital formats this Friday, October 27th; find merch bundle and pre-order options [link] or at Bandcamp [link]. Watch for several new videos from GNAW to see release in the coming weeks following the release of ‘Cutting Pieces’.
GNAW has confirmed a record release show for ‘Cutting Pieces’, at the Brooklyn watering hole Saint Vitus Bar on October 29th, where they’ll be joined by Couch Slut, Escuela, and Syndromes [info]. Watch for additional shows to be announced in the weeks ahead.
