One of underground thrash metal’s most revered bands, the iconic socio-political power-bashers Sacred Reich has shared some exciting news. After repeated claims fueling doubt that they would record a new album, the band has unveiled an announcement that they have re-signed with Metal Blade Records.
The band is currently at work writing material for what will be their sixth album and their first since 1996’s ‘Heal’. Of course, Sacred Reich released all of their early era studio albums, ‘Ignorance’ (1987), the ‘Surf Nicaragua’ EP (1988), ‘The American Way’ (1990), ‘Independent’ (1993), and ‘Heal’ (1996) via Metal Blade. They left the label for a short period, signing to Hollywood Records briefly, but soon returned to the label, as they have now done yet again.
Sacred Reich vocalist and bassist Phil Rind comments:
“We are very happy to announce that Sacred Reich have signed with Metal Blade Records and we are writing songs for a new album. Our plan is to go into the studio this summer and have a new record out early next year. We are super excited and can’t wait to share some new music with you!“
Sacred Reich had a very triumphant year in 2017 with their highly successful “30 Years Of Ignorance” Tour (marking that album’s 3-decade anniversary) with now-labelmates Byzantine. That was doubled down upon by their fantastic performance as the 2017 edition of Wacken Open Air festival last summer.
More to come on any new developments with Sacred Reich.
