We have a most welcome update to a story [HERE] we ran back in November 2017, about the then-ailing singer of Vio-Lence, Sean Killian.
At the time of the original story, Sean had been diagnosed with Stage 4 liver cirrhosis and was in dire need of a transplant. The procedure he required is called a Living Donor Transplant, which involves transporting a portion of a living donor’s liver to the recipient.
The metal community rallied around Killian, organizing the KILLIAN ON COMMAND Benefit, where Mordred, Dress The Dead, an All-Star Group of metallers, and more played and shared their support.
On March 28th, Sean’s wife posted the following message to Facebook, saying:
“Yes! It’s true!
Yesterday, Sean went in for a liver transplant. The living donor is my brother, Kevin Rivero.
Both are recovering at UCSF in the ICU.
Sean would like you all to know he is eternally grateful for all the love and support these past couple of years and fully intends to return to the stage once he is healed and ready to bring it! (No. NOT a Vio-ence reunion, so don’t ask.)
I think we could all use a celebratory concert! We all have a great deal to be thankful for.
There are simply too many people to mention by name. You know who you are. 🤗”
This is great, hope-inspiring news indeed, and we wish to extend a “Get Well!” message to Sean Killian. We look forward to his returning to the stage and bringing those bad-ass vocals of his as only he can!
