The Finnish psychedelic doom practitioners DARK BUDDHA RISING will drop their latest collection of ritualized riffs, the ‘II‘ EP, this Friday, April 20th.
Yes, the well-celebrated Four / Twenty date is a more than appropriate occasion for this 2-song lysergic excursion to arrive from Neurot Recordings. With a malevolent sonic vortex of spiritually intense psyche-doom permeating this music, “II” is a most unique construct.
It arrives over a decade after the ‘I‘ EP in 2007 (though DBR has expelled several other recordings in the years since, of course) and its transmitters, J. Rämänen (drums), P. Rämänen (bass), V. Ajomo (guitar), J. Saarivuori (synths), and M. Neuman (vocals), deliver some of their darkest work yet.
The ‘II‘ EP from DARK BUDDHA RISING sees release on CD and Vinyl LP formats from Neurot Recordings on April 20th. Pre-order is active now at THIS LOCATION.
In related news, Dark Buddha Rising will join with Oranssi Pazuzu as WASTE OF SPACE ORCHESTRA for a special performance at the Roadburn Festival on April 19th. The collaboration will perform a new concept piece exclusively at the festival, while Dark Buddha Rising undertakes other live performances soon.
