TOXIKULL ‘The Nightraiser’ EP Review & Stream

TOXIKULL is a quartet that hails from Cascais, Portugal, and back in late March, the band issued its newest EP release, ‘The Nightraiser‘.

The six-song album was unleashed via Mosher / Firecum Records and it is a masterful blast of metal influenced by the old-school era. That means that it’s quite easy to discern a plethora of stylistic elements, ones derived only by taking in huge amounts of the classics like Judas Priest, Helloween, or Accept.

With a blistering, breakneck riffing propelling them and bolstered by piston-pumping rhythms and over-the-top vocals, these songs strike without mercy. Five originals: “Nightraiser, “Surrender Or Die“, “Hellmaster“, “Freedom To Kill” and “Satan Bloody Satan” are fierce neck wreckers. The EP ends on quite a high note too, one that sees TOXIKULL take on the cut “Rocker” from the pre-Guns & Roses band, Hollywood Rose.

Furiously firing on all cylinders amid a frenzied flurry of fiery guitars and machine-gun drumming, TOXIKULL pulls out all the stops for their sophomore outing. Wave after wave of high-velocity shredding cuts loose and just when you think the band has reached their fastest, they pop the clutch and careen headlong into overdrive.
