Portuguese progressive sludge / black metal band GAEREA have just unveiled their official video for the impressive song “Catharsis“.
The track hails from the band’s upcoming full-length album for Transcending Obscurity Records, ‘Unsettling Whispers‘, which will arrive June 22nd. The album will be available in a variety of formats including a gatefold LP, alternate artwork box set, and 8-panel digipak with a 20-page booklet.
As “Catharsis” reveals, GAEREA is turning black metal on its head with their fusing atmospheric, progressive elements into their sound. At times the sonics are quite sludgy, others are rife with post-hardcore and outer sound nuances.
