Old-school rockers KIX have announced they will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their iconic ‘Blow My Fuse album with a very special release.

On September 19th, 2018, exactly 30 years after Blow My Fuse’s original September 19, 1988 release date, KIX will release ‘Fuse 30 Reblown‘ via Loud And Proud Records.

The new version of their original Atlantic RecordsBlow My Fuse’ album has been re-mixed and re-mastered by Beau Hill (Alice Cooper, Airbourne, Ratt, Warrant) and will include never-before-released demos of all 10 tracks, recorded in the early to mid-1980s.

KIX‘s origins reach back to Hagerstown, Maryland circa 1977 when the band first formed – after using the names Shooze and Generators – and released their beloved self-titled album in 1981. The band would eventually grow to become one of Baltimore’s favorite hard rock bands, garnering quite a reputation for themselves as one of Maryland’s most exciting live bands as well.

Led by frontman Steve Whiteman and creative mastermind/bassist Donnie Purnell, the band was rounded out by drummer Jimmy “Chocolate” Chalfant and guitarists Ronnie “10/10” Younkins and Brian “Damage” Forsythe. The KIX mythos continued to build with subsequent albums ‘Cool Kids‘ (1983) and ‘Midnight Dynamite‘ (1985), but it was their 1988 release, ‘Blow My Fuse‘, that cemented the KIX legend into place.

The album contained the group’s biggest hit, the power ballad, “Don’t Close Your Eyes,” which reached #11 on the Billboard Hot 100 in early 1989. The album achieved platinum sales and peaked at #46 on the Billboard Top 200, making it the band’s most successful record of their 35-year career.

Though things would taper down for KIX in later years, they have remained a highly popular act with an undying, fanatical fan base. KIX would later break-up, reform, and release further albums. In current times, KIX remains one of the biggest acts from the old school rock world that are forging ahead and still thrilling fans all over.

Frontman Steve Whiteman comments:

We are proud to be celebrating the 30-year anniversary of the biggest album of our lives. We went from clubs to arenas, a van to a tour bus, and from the U.S. to Japan and Europe. And 30 years later, our fans are still right here with us.”
