One of the most groundbreaking entities in all of the unhinged musical transformation is the ambient psych headfuck from Osaka, Japan: 夢遊病者 – AKA Sleepwalker.
Call them, it, or whomever, and what they create mind-bending because it is of course. They emanate intensely moving, sometimes unsettling, psychedelia-infused atmospheric black metal and noise experimentation. The implementation of Krautrock, punk, drone, outer sound and abject weirdness in their output is absurdly intriguing.
The new album, “一期一会 “ (“for this time only, never again”) has just arrived, on May 25th from Sentient Ruin and Annapurna in a joint effort. It will be available in a variety of formats between the two labels, as you can see in the links below.
