After 13 years of creating, recording, and playing some of the finest stoner, sludge, and doom to emanate from the U.S. underground, Virginia’s LORD will soon call it a day.
More on that in a moment, though. First the good news… August 24th will see the arrival of the band’s swan song studio offering, ‘Desperation Finds Hunger In All Men‘, from Heavy Hound Records. The record is the anxiously awaited follow-up to 2017’s ‘Blacklisted’.
To properly introduce us to what looms, LORD has just unveiled an official video for one of the new album’s tracks, “Whispering Snakes“. Powered by burgeoning riffs, determined grooves, and belted-out vocals that all combine to rattle your being, the song is a standard of southern heaviness.
Check out the new video below, while pre-order for LORD‘s ‘Desperation Finds Hunger In All Men‘ is active now HERE.
As alluded to, LORD has officially announced they are disbanding and will be playing two final live shows on July 28th (Martinsburg, WV) and August 4th (Baltimore, MD). This is somewhat disheartening news to be sure, but indications are that the guys are going out on a high note with the imminent new release. Riff Relevant wishes them all the best in their future endeavors!
