Illinois, USA atmospheric post-metal sludgers MINSK announce that they have collaborated with Switzerland doom-death metallers ZATOKREV on an upcoming split release.
‘BIGOD‘ is the title of the conjoined pairing’s album and it will arrive on October 5th from Consouling Sounds and Czar Of Crickets Productions. An interesting factor pertaining to the recording is that each band features a guest appearance from the other on their aural contribution, with two songs from each.
Today, MINSK unveils one of its new tracks, “The Chalice And The Dagger“, from their side of the split. The song is classic MINSK in every sense, hauntingly melancholic but also rife with substantive progressive doom characteristics throughout its six-minute onslaught.
You can order the ‘BIGOD‘ split release through Bandcamp from either MINSK or ZATOKREV. MINSK offered the following insight to the song:
“‘The Chalice And The Dagger’ is a snapshot into the world of paradox, Life is a disgusting grind, yet our experience vibrates with ecstasy and potentiality. This song hopes to present the hymn of the out-lier; with the ragged beauty of navigating through the margins of existence. Interpretation is invalid without context, and this song hopes to touch on the uncharted, and the established. It sits within the entirety of BIGOD as one section of four, with all parts necessary to the whole.“
Soon after the release of ‘BIGOD‘, both Minsk and Zatokrev will embark upon a European Tour presented by Dead Pig Entertainment, which also includes a few festivals. The upcoming tour dates and itinerary is below.
