In July, Riff Relevant reported [HERE] on the UMG reissues of several classic albums from hard rock legends DEEP PURPLE.
Now, we report that Rhino Entertainment is getting in the game and will release special purple vinyl editions of DEEP PURPLE’s 1970 classic ‘Deep Purple In Rock‘ and 1971’s ‘Fireball‘, both on November 23rd.
Both albums have been newly remastered by Andy Pearce and Matt Wortham from the original analog tapes, and have been cut at half-speed by Barry Grint at Alchemy Mastering.
These landmark album releases are both now considered to be a creative high point for DEEP PURPLE, held in beloved regard by fans of the band. Both were also chart-topping releases, as ‘Deep Purple In Rock‘ was the band’s first #1 album in Germany, Austria, and Norway. It features such band staples as “Speed King” and “Child In Time”, while ‘Fireball‘ hit #1 in the UK, Germany, Austria, Norway, and Finland.
