Chicago, Illinois’ genre-warping instrumental stalwarts PELICAN announce the upcoming release of new music, their first such offering in six years.
This Record Store Day, April, 13th, 2019, will see the band’s delivery of a two-song, 7″ indie exclusive release, “Midnight And Mescaline“. The song has been well received by those able to hear its live rendering at recent PELICAN performances. Now the riff-driven number will be paired with B-side “Darkness On The Stairs,” and together provide a profound, visceral effort by this legendary act.
It is not the only thing on tap for PELICAN though, as the band has announced a run of live dates set for this June, supported by Cloakroom. Those dates are listed below.
All this news is accompanied by the recent digital re-release of the PELICAN album ‘Forever Becoming‘. Featuring a vastly improved remix and remastering of the original songs, replete with a revised version of the previously Japan-only bonus track “Bardo“, the results provide a whole new level of atmospheric clarity and heaviness to the album.
Vinyl pre-orders are coming soon while the digital format is available from all digital retailers and streaming services now. Check out the promotional video for the song “Deny The Absolute” along with the streaming ‘Forever Becoming‘:
