Ventura, California’s retro rock-inspired GYGAX – featuring past and present members of Gypsyhawk, Skeletonwitch, Annihilation Time, Huntress, Sorcerer, etc. – will take to the U.S. roads in May.
The band, now at work recording a third album – tentatively titled ‘High Fantasy‘ – planned for release later this year, will join fellow Californians POUNDER on the west coast trek. The run has been dubbed the “Highly Uncivilized West Coast Tour 2019“, a reference combining the titles of GYGAX‘s upcoming album and POUNDER‘s recently released effort for Hell’s Headbangers, ‘Uncivilized‘.
The tour sees GYGAX and POUNDER on the road from May 9th through May 18th, with shows booked in Portland, Seattle, Grant’s Pass, Oakland, Sacramento, San Diego, and Los Angeles. GYGAX states that fans in the tour zone can expect to get the first dose of new material from the band’s impending fourth release and that this tour will be their last supporting their most recent album, ‘Second Edition‘.
GYGAX comments:
“This will be our final support run for ‘2nd Edition’, released on Creator-Destructor Records. We’ll also be debuting fresh new jams from our upcoming album, ‘High Fantasy’.“
