NIGHTSTALKER, long-running Grecian overlords of all things stoner rock, announce they have signed a worldwide recording and distribution deal with Heavy Psych Sounds Records.
The label is home to an immense array of eclectic bands and artists, the ideal setting for this iconic rock band to continue building upon their own musical legacy. That construction plan will continue as NIGHTSTALKER reveals the upcoming arrival of their eighth studio album this Fall.
‘Great Hallucinations‘ is scheduled to materialize on October 4th, delivering eight incinerating new tracks showcasing the various facets of the NIGHTSTALKER heavy rock styling. With a combination of smooth grooves and leaden heaviness, enhanced with catchy melodies and undercurrents of spacey psyche nuances, this is new age audio from a classic act.
Classic is a fitting title, as the band was formed in Greece by singer (and drummer at the time) Argyris “Argy“ Galiatsatos in late 1989. Joined by bassist Andreas Lagios in 1992, the band’s ability to meld funky rhythms with striking grunge qualities resulted in enthralling songs. With Argy’s powerfully raw, bluesy vocals sealing the deal, the music of NIGHTSTALKER was a whole new beast by the time their first EP was released, 1994’s ‘Side FX‘. Subsequent arrivals via 1996’s full-length ‘Use‘, a second EP in 2000, ‘The Ritual‘, and a string of incredible albums, ‘Just A Burn‘ (2004), ‘Superfreak‘ (2009), ‘Dead Rock Commandos‘ (2012), and ‘As Above, So Below‘ (2016), propelled the band to becoming a cult favorite.

This tradition will continue with the NIGHTSTALKER produced ‘Great Hallucinations‘, recorded and mixed at Wreck-It Sound Studios. Today, the band presents the Jon Toussas created album artwork and tracklist (track premieres are expected soon, along with the announcement of a European Tour) as ‘Great Hallucinations‘ will arrive via Heavy Psych Sounds on October 4th.
