The Victoria, British Columbia, Canada-based VULTURES reveal the particulars for their sophomore offering of manic metallic, hardcore aggression.
The ‘Hunger’ EP is set to be unleashed independently on October 4th and today’s details include the album artwork, tracklist, video trailer, and a video for the single “Push“. There is also news of an upcoming VULTURES live trek, but we will get to more on that in a moment.
Packed with a massive amount of incendiary sonic malice, ‘Hunger‘ was produced, mixed, and mastered by Tim Creviston (Misery Signals, Spiritbox). The EP includes a guest vocal performance from Larissa Stupar (Venom Prison, Wolf Down) and it is adorned with artwork created by Dusty Ray and the layout arranged by Kevin Moore of Soft Surrogate.
Today’s presentation of the single “Push” provides “the perfect initial representation of, and introduction to, HUNGER as an album” according to the band. The song, like all of those from the EP, shares a connecting theme reflecting on the struggles associated with substance abuse from a variety of different perspectives. “Push” specifically is framed around dealers who prey on impoverished and impressionable people in order to make a living.
The video contains bleak white, black, and grey-hued scenes juxtaposed against frenetic red and pink imagery intended to add depth and context to the depictions of struggle highlighted in the song. The official video for “Push” was shot and edited by Matthew Gladman, with additional color editing by Graham Scanlon.
Tracklist:
01. Push
02. Acceptance
03. Rat King
04. Bitter Breath
05. This Hunger
06. V.P.D.
The VULTURES ‘Hunger‘ EP will see an independent release on CD and all digital platforms on October 4th with pre-order to begin soon. Since its recording, bassist Ian Bezpalko has left, replaced with Bradley Seabrook now joining guitarist Cole Lamb, drummer Graham Scanlon, and vocalist Alex Pearce in the band.
They will soon embark upon their largest tour yet. In support of the EP, they will head out for both U.S. and Canadian dates, including performances with the Cancer Bats in Victoria, BC on September 21st and Despised Icon in Vancouver, BC on September 23rd.
This will lead into the band’s first-ever foray into the United States, with the bulk of the tour kicking off in British Columbia on October 2nd, running down the West Coast and back before ending in Seattle, WA on October 21st.
