Reactivated NYC, New York-based, Eighties heavy rock band SPREAD EAGLE has announced their “Subway To The Stars Spring Tour 2020” for the U.S. and Canadian markets.
The road action – the first SPREAD EAGLE shows since 2017 – comes as a special treat for fans. The first portion of this symbolic gift was the August 2019 ‘Subway To The Stars‘ album release for Frontiers Music Srl., the first new SPREAD EAGLE album in 26 years. Before that album’s release last summer, the SPREAD EAGLE news was reported in the band’s origin story spotlight via our weekly series, Old-School Sunday [HERE].
Last year’s studio album marked the SPREAD EAGLE legacy coming full circle, at least for the first three decades of the band’s existence. Formed in 1989, the act struck a chord with fans of guitar enriched, blues-infused, rock and roll with their introductory, self-titled album in 1990. Spawning such classic singles (and their official videos) for fan favorites “Switchblade Serenade” and “Scratch Like A Cat“, the album was a smash with the public and critics alike.
Sophomore outing and follow-up, 1993’s ‘Open To The Public‘, also resonated well with fans, but by 1995, the band entered what would become a lengthy hiatus. During that period, the reverence for SPREAD EAGLE only grew, eventually leading to their welcomed return. It has truly been a triumphant one at that, with last year’s ‘Subway To The Stars‘ garnering critical acclaim as it topped numerous Best Albums Of 2019 lists.
