Icelandic trio THE VINTAGE CARAVAN revealed earlier this year that they have signed a worldwide contract with Napalm Records.
That news was shared during an intimate acoustic performance from the trio; yet some months prior to this, THE VINTAGE CARAVAN was quite electrifying. Of course, I am referring to their appearance at the 2019 Wacken Open Air Festival in Wacken, Germany.
Playing before a crowd of roughly 75,000 people, Óskar Logi Ágústsson (lead vocals, electric guitar), Alexander Örn Númason (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Stefán Ari Stefánsson (drums, percussion) purportedly impressed all that witnessed them.
With their alluring meld of Seventies style prog-rock laden with an undercurrent of southern rock and blues, THE VINTAGE CARAVAN wins fans over time and time again. Next year (2021), the band will celebrate its 15th anniversary. During those years, they have released a 2009 self-titled debut, followed by ‘Voyage‘ in 2012, ‘Arrival‘ in 2015, and ‘Gateways‘ in 2018.
Last year’s Wacken Open Air saw the guys work their live magic and now, thankfully, we are also able to enjoy this live set from one of Reykjavik’s finest acts. Consisting of eight songs, the performance was professionally shot and captured in full-on video. It is streaming below and includes the show’s set-list. Enjoy!
